Hot Mama Smoothie
I call this my Hot Mama Smoothie because it contains some hormone-balancing nutritional goodness! Several things affect our hormone balance, like monthly periods, birth control, pregnancy, and menopause. Hormonal imbalance is not a medical diagnosis but can explain why we are feeling out of whack. Fatigue, bloating, headaches, insomnia, brain fog, trouble losing weight, and moodiness are just some of the issues you can blame on your hormones. Of course, you could also blame your kids, wine, and french fries - your choice!

1 1/2 cups dairy-free milk
2 tbsp almond butter (or PB2 powder)
2 tbsp of ground fax seed
1 - 2 tsp of maca powder
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1/2 frozen banana OR handful of ice cubes
2 Medjool dates pitted
Optional: 1 scoop of protein powder (I use BulletProof collagen powder)
Blend all ingredients in your blender, Nutribullet, Ninja, or whatever you use to blend.
