My Favorite Green Juice
I love fresh juice, but sometimes the thought of taking out my juicer, and having to clean it afterward can be a huge deterrent. So, any juice or smoothie that can be made in my Nutribullet or regular blender is a no-brainer and something I will do on the daily. I typically would make smoothies with a nut-milk, protein powder, seeds, and fruit, but lately have been into this coconut water-based juice, inspired by Rachel Beri of BonBeri. The first few times I made this I skipped the mint, simply because I didn’t have any on hand. Once I restocked my fridge, I added mint, and all I can say this is a gamechanger and I highly recommend you don’t skip this step.
This juice is also very alkalizing if that is something important to you. Eating more alkaline foods can improve nutrient deficiencies, decrease pain, and improve heart health. An alkaline way of eating helps balance the blood pH levels, making them more alkaline than acidic. Eating more alkaline is meant to lower the number of acidic foods you eat by offering alternatives that are healthier. Some healthcare professionals believe when the body’s pH balance is off, there is a higher chance of getting sick.
Recipe
12 ounces of coconut water (My favorite is Harmless brand)
2 handfuls of fresh baby spinach
1 frozen banana
1 cup of fruit (I switch up based on my mood: fresh papaya, frozen wild blueberries, frozen mango, fresh pineapple - but basically whatever floats your boat).
3 fresh mint leaves
Through everything in the Nutribullet or blender and ENJOY!
